Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) such as experiencing or witnessing violence or abuse, are linked to chronic health problems, mental illness, and substance misuse in adulthood. Fortunately, violence and the health consequences of ACEs are preventable. Creating safe, stable, nurturing relationships and environments for children and families can prevent violence and abuse. Moreover, nurturing relationships and positive environments can be designed and scaled.
